Eating My Way Through Philly!! We just moved here! What better way to get acquainted with the food scene? I’m giving myself a year to eat my way through this list of restaurants!
Moving to Philadelphia from Madison, Wisconsin has been exciting and different. It’s a much bigger city, more diverse and the food scene is exponentially larger. There are 21 neighborhoods within Center City alone; and that’s not counting the neighborhoods in Northwest Philly and more!

As I am learning with many restaurants here, you need a reservation. . and for some, you need to call 3 months in advance! I’m still trying to get a reservation at Zahav.
Eating My Way Through Philly
We started with Parc in the Rittenhouse Square neighborhood. I couldn’t get a brunch reservation but we were able to eat there mid-day at 2pm on a Sunday. And Parc has a midday menu so it was perfect!
We started with their Onion Soup Gratinée and it was divine!! So good! This was one order split into two bowls.
Next, we tried the Crab & Avocado: crab rillette, shaved avocado. This was absolutely delicious and so flavorful. You get a huge bread basket when you arrive so I ate this with some of the bread and it was amazing!
I ordered the Chicken Paillard with shaved vegetable salad and this was incredible! Light, full of flavor and delicious!
My husband ordered the Cheeseburger (grilled onion, raclette cheese, pommes frites) and my kids split the Steak Frites, seared hanger steak, maître d’ butter!!
I highly recommend Parc! It’s so lovely and there’s outdoor seating which really makes you think you’re in Paris! I will definitely go back to try their dinner menu! I have to try their roast chicken and their Beef Bourguignon!!
