Eating My Way Through Philly!! We just moved here! What better way to get acquainted with the food scene? I’m giving myself a year to eat my way through this list of restaurants!

Moving to Philadelphia from Madison, Wisconsin has been exciting and different. It’s a much bigger city, more diverse and the food scene is exponentially larger. There are 21 neighborhoods within Center City alone; and that’s not counting the neighborhoods in Northwest Philly and more!

Eating My Way Through Philly

I’m taking this list straight from Eater Philadelphia, because I needed to start with a list I trust and know will be good (in no particular order):

  1. Zahav
  2. Royal Boucherie
  3. High Street on Market
  4. Fork
  5. Vedge
  6. Vetri Cucina
  7. Kanella Grill

  23. Palizzi Social Club
  24. Perla
  25. Fond
  26. Noord
  27. Laurel
  28. Townsend
  29. Mike’s BBQ
  30. Saté Kampar
  31. Le Virtù
  32. Hardena
  33. Musi BYOB
  34. Stock
  35. Cadence
  36. Kensington Quarters (Fishtown)
  37. Cheu Fishtown
  38. Suraya
  39. Pizzeria Beddia

Fishtown

If I wanted to focus solely on the Fishtown neighborhood, here are more restaurants to visit:

  1. Aether
  2. Cadence
  3. Castellino’s
  4. Cheu Fishtown
  5. Da-Wa
  6. Ekta
  7. Elwood
  8. Fette Sau

  14. La Colombe
  15. Loco Pez
  16. Murph’s Bar
  17. Nunu

  19. Pizza Brain

  21. Pizzeria Beddia
  22. Stock Fishtown
  23. SugarHouse Casino Dining
  24. Suraya
  25. Wm. Mulherin’s Sons

I will update the blog here periodically with photos and blog posts. Follow me on Instagram to watch my stories and to see where I’ll be going next! And check back with me in October of 2020 to see if I got to all 39+ restaurants!

As I am learning with many restaurants here, you need a reservation. .  and for some, you need to call 3 months in advance! I’m still trying to get a reservation at Zahav.

Eating My Way Through Philly

We started with Parc in the Rittenhouse Square neighborhood. I couldn’t get a brunch reservation but we were able to eat there mid-day at 2pm on a Sunday. And Parc has a midday menu so it was perfect!

We started with their Onion Soup Gratinée and it was divine!! So good! This was one order split into two bowls.

Next, we tried the Crab & Avocado: crab rillette, shaved avocado. This was absolutely delicious and so flavorful. You get a huge bread basket when you arrive so I ate this with some of the bread and it was amazing!

I ordered the Chicken Paillard with shaved vegetable salad and this was incredible! Light, full of flavor and delicious!

My husband ordered the Cheeseburger (grilled onion, raclette cheese, pommes frites) and my kids split the Steak Frites, seared hanger steak, maître d’ butter!!

I highly recommend Parc! It’s so lovely and there’s outdoor seating which really makes you think you’re in Paris! I will definitely go back to try their dinner menu! I have to try their roast chicken and their Beef Bourguignon!!

Here’s to eating in Philly!! Follow me on Instagram to watch my stories and to see where I’ll be going next!
