Strawberry Orange Bundt Cake!! Strawberry Orange Bundt Cake with chocolate ganache and chocolate sprinkles. Delicious!
If you told me 3 years ago that I would have a food blog and would be head over heels in love with baking and cooking, I would have laughed in your face. Back then, I only knew of one food blog. One. That was it. And the only reason I knew of it was because a lot of my friends were following her . . I think mainly because of her Korean dishes and beautiful cupcakes.
Back then, I had no idea this entire blogging universe or blogosphere really even existed.
Fast forward almost 3 years . . because Madeline will be 3 years old in November and I fell in love with cooking again while on maternity leave after I had her. Oh how life has changed since this
I know this looks like a big doughnut but I love doughnuts. This might be my favorite bundt cake I have baked so far. And I’ve baked

Thank you so much Brandi!! I’m waiting for your post. . with the NEWS.. I can’t wait.
Brandi
Oh thanks girl! I’m still working on the final touches with my web designer…it’s taking forever! Ahhhhhh! So much more than I expected. 🙂 Hopefully next week.

Such a beautiful, moist cake!! Aw, I kinda want to join bundt-a-month now!! Hm, presently I don’t even own a bundt tin… in fact, it wasn’t that long ago that I didn’t know what a bundt tin was!! I distinctly remember the first time I heard the word. It was on the movie “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” when… uh, the mother-of-the-groom brought a bundt cake to the Greek pre-wedding bash? If you haven’t seen it, the Greek mother-of-the-bride whispered, “It has a hole in it!” with a puzzled expression (she subsequently, and quite joyeously, filled the hole with a pot of petunias! Haha). I love your blog Alice. I’m glad that you enjoy the process of creating it as much as we love reading it. Hopefully when I’m a mum I’ll be almost as cool as you (I guess buying sprinkles is the first step!) x

Hi Laura,
You’re so sweet! When I started Bundt-a-month, I only owned one bundt pan. . now I won’t tell you how many I have. . (maybe 6 or 7?) 😛
If you enjoy baking, you should totally join! I love that this group keeps me on my toes!! Thank you for the comment! Made my night! 🙂
The Ninja Baker
Aww. So cute! Of course, sprinkles must accompany every cake =)
Seriously, Alice your Bundt and ganache as always are gorgeous….I’m glad you got preggers and started a food blog so you can share the how-tos on your gems (aka works of art.) And intriguing ideas such as strawberries and naval oranges together in cake =)
BTW I credited and linked to HipFoodieMom for your white chocolate ganache for my last post: Strawberry Chocolate Bento.

Thank you, Kim! You are too kind! You really need to try this cake. . the strawberries and oranges are amazing together! Going to check out your Bento post now!
Susan
This is so pretty, I love all that chocolate glaze on top and strawberry/orange really does sound like a great combination.
hipfoodiemom
thank you so much, Susan!
Renee
Oh yes, fabulous cake for sure! The chocolate ganache really puts it over the top. And isn’t the “research” we have to do for blogging so much fun? I love it too. I’m glad to see someone else who doesn’t chase numbers and does it for pleasure. I think it makes your blog even more special because it is done from the heart.
hipfoodiemom
Thank you, Renee! Joining the groups like this one and Sunday Supper have been the best. . it’s how I’ve met great people like YOU!
Paula @ Vintage Kitchen Notes
Oh Alice, I can see why you think this is the best so far. The texture is unbelievable! So moist. And I can only imagine those flavors, which both go so well with chocolate. And let me tell you, a giant chocolate glaze strawberry orange donut would be out of this world. Imagine the look of your girls when they saw it!
hipfoodiemom
Thank you, Paula! Hahaha. . Madeline kept trying to take the strawberries off my table while I was trying to shoot. . so I had to give her a bowl of her own and photograph quickly! 😛
Nancy @ gottagetbaked
Dang that cake looks ridiculously moist inside! Fabulous! I would never have thought to combine orange with strawberries. That’s why I’m so glad I follow wonderful kick ass bloggers like yourself who open my mind and palette up to so many possibilities. You’ll always be one of my faves – don’t stop blogging, or I’ll have to move next to you in order to continue seeing (and tasting!) what you cook and bake.

Hey Nancy!
I was really surprised by Sarah’s decision and honestly it did cause me to reflect on things . . but I ain’t going anywhere. . this is my therapy and refuge. 🙂
Hezzi-D
I don’t know that I’ve ever had strawberries and orange together but it sounds really good. I LOVE the look of that ganache too…I’m drooling over it!
hipfoodiemom
Thank you so much!! I must say, the ganache- because I used bittersweet + dark chocolate- was amazing! Thank you!!
Kate | Food Babbles
Ha! It does look like a giant doughnut 🙂 And you’re 5 year old is totally right!! Everything is better with sprinkles. Definitely! This cake is just lovely. I love that you chose such a unique combination of flavors. I need to try this. And I just clicked over to that orange almond tart. Definitely make that too!!
hipfoodiemom
Thank you, Kate! Yes, the tart is fabulous!!
Liz
Alice, your Bundt cake is stunning! Such a gorgeous, glossy glaze and the cake looks tender and magnificent!
hipfoodiemom
Thank you so much, Liz!! I think I have mastered ganache because I make it so often. . but I need to challenge myself and NOT make one for next month! 🙂
Anita at Hungry Couple
I want to lick the glaze right off that cake. No, really. I couldn’t be trusted around it. 🙂
hipfoodiemom
LOL! Love it!
Lora @cakeduchess
Your top photo is from a magazine, Alice. Just stunning. All that gorgeous glaze and the delicate berries. I know what you mean about why you blog. I find it hard to believe that I’m still doing it and how much it’s become a part of life. So nice to have found you through this blogging thing;)I am pinnng this again!
Karen Hartzell (@InTheKitchenKP)
I feel a lot of my bundts are starting to look the same too! I need to try a chocolate one again.
PS I love donuts too! lol
Holly
While I am sure the cake was delicious, would it be terrible if I made the ganache and ate it by the spoonful? This is exactly my kind of food!
Anne@FromMySweetHeart
Alice….this cake is just stunning! And while I love the unique combo of strawberries and orange….it’s that ganache that I simply can’t get out of my mind! I say it should be added to everything! Oh yes…and sprinkles…..you gotta have sprinkles! : )
Sandra
Your reasons for blogging are the absolute best and I’m not much of a number checker either. It is what it is. Now about this bundt…………….Sweet Mother of Pearl it looks good!!! I could dive into this glaze and live happily ever after.
Laura
I LOVE strawberries and orange together. Brilliantly done!
Laura@bakinginpyjamas
