It’s January 2025! New Year!! I am trying to start this new year off right. As I always do, I indulged a lot over the holidays and now I’m (maybe like the rest of the world) trying to make better choices, watch my portions and just eat cleaner. For me, I’m trying not to make it about weight loss but more about clean eating, nutrition and not stuffing my face so much. Ha!
As a mother of two, I have to be very careful how I talk about food, my body, why I do the things that I do and we never talk about weight loss. In a time when a very large percentage of teen girls struggle with body image, eating disorders, disordered eating, I never talk about my body in a negative way in front of my kids and I try to make healthy choices, while still enjoying all kinds of foods. I hope to share more of this later. . maybe in a few years.
A “detox” smoothie or smoothie of any kind, I feel like, is a welcomed treat/meal/addition to any diet in my opinion. They fill me up, are delicious and can easily be customized. This smoothie for example, you can switch out the fruit, switch out the nut butter, and switch out the greens. Even though, this smoothie isn’t eh prettiest color, it’s so delicious and I hope you try it!
