Strawberry Peanut Butter Detox Smoothie. This smoothie is so delicious and packed with protein. This smoothie is pretty hefty and makes a lot so this could definitely be your breakfast or your first meal of the day.

It’s January 2025! New Year!! I am trying to start this new year off right. As I always do, I indulged a lot over the holidays and now I’m (maybe like the rest of the world) trying to make better choices, watch my portions and just eat cleaner. For me, I’m trying not to make it about weight loss but more about clean eating, nutrition and not stuffing my face so much. Ha!

As a mother of two, I have to be very careful how I talk about food, my body, why I do the things that I do and we never talk about weight loss. In a time when a very large percentage of teen girls struggle with body image, eating disorders, disordered eating, I never talk about my body in a negative way in front of my kids and I try to make healthy choices, while still enjoying all kinds of foods. I hope to share more of this later. .  maybe in a few years.

A “detox” smoothie or smoothie of any kind, I feel like, is a welcomed treat/meal/addition to any diet in my opinion. They fill me up, are delicious and can easily be customized. This smoothie for example, you can switch out the fruit, switch out the nut butter, and switch out the greens. Even though, this smoothie isn’t eh prettiest color, it’s so delicious and I hope you try it!

Whether you make this first thing in the morning, or even for an afternoon snack or post workout smoothie, I hope you give it a try and enjoy!

Equipment

  • blender

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon ground flax seed*
  • 1 1/2 cups frozen strawberries**
  • 1 small banana
  • 1 handful baby spinach
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter***
  • 1/2 small lemon juiced; 1 tablespoon is good
  • 1 scoop protein powder vanilla or any flavor you like

Instructions

  • Add everything into your blender, pouring the water in first. Blend until smooth. If more liquid is needed, you can add a little more water (or ice cubes) until your desired consistency is reached. Enjoy!

Notes

*I have a ground flax seed and chia seed blend that I like to use
**This can also be a blend of frozen strawberries and raspberries, or any frozen berry blend. Note: If you use blueberries or blackberries, that will change the color of the smoothie
***You can use any nut butter here.

I absolutely love the idea of a strawberry peanut butter detox smoothie! It’s so refreshing and perfect for mornings when you need a little pick-me-up. I usually toss in some spinach too for an extra nutrient boost. Plus, smoothies are my go-to when I’m in a rush! By the way, if anyone needs driving directions to get fresh strawberries, check out driving directions – it helps me find local farms easily
