Gochujang Flavored Pasta Chips! This is my spin on the Viral TikTok Trend! So easy to make! They can be made faster in your air fryer but an oven works too!

Yes, we are here with yet another viral TikTok food trend. These pasta chips are definitely worth trying, and like the tortilla hack, are easily customizable with the flavoring and which pasta you use. Any small shaped pasta you can pick up with your hands will work: penne, rigatoni, bowtie, etc.

I loved using rigatoni because I love the tube like shape of the “chips”. So fun to eat and easy to dip!

Gochujang Flavored Pasta Chips

The original version just uses olive oil, Italian seasoning, parmesan cheese, and salt and pepper. I saw a version using Frank’s Red Hot Sauce and knew I had to try my own version using Korean Gochujang, hot pepper paste. If you love Korean food, you know what is condiment is. I have used gochujang countless times in my Korean food recipes, as it is a staple in Korean food cooking. It adds heat, great flavor and a very subtle sweetness, to any dish.

Other Recipes Using Korean Gochujang

and more!

We hope you give these pasta chips a try!

Gochujang Flavored Pasta Chips

The recipe below is for the air fryer but these can be baked in the oven at 400°F for 20 to 25 minutes, tossing halfway through. You will get a more crispy "chip" in the air fryer.
Prep Time12 minutes mins
Cook Time12 minutes mins
Total Time24 minutes mins
Course: Appetizer or Snack
Cuisine: Korean-ish
Keyword: pasta chips
Servings: 4
Author: hipfoodiemom

Equipment

  • Air Fryer

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. rigatoni pasta
  • 1/4 cup Korean gochujang + more if desired
  • 1 tablespoon Ranch dressing
  • 1/2 teaspoon honey + more if desired
  • parmesan cheese

For the dipping sauce:

  • 1/4 cup Korean gochujang
  • 1 tablespoon Ranch dressing
  • honey to taste

Instructions

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta to al dente according to package instructions. If using rigatoni pasta, this will take about 11 to 12 minutes. Drain and place into a large mixing bowl.
  • Add in the gochujang, Ranch dressing, honey and parmesan cheese and toss to coat. Place into your air fryer and air fry at 400°F for about 10 to 12 minutes, tossing halfway through. If you have the air fryer that I have, see video, I tossed and rotated the trays halfway through.
  • For the dipping sauce: whisk together the ingredients. Taste and adjust any ingredients as needed. Serve and enjoy with the Gochujang flavored pasta chips!

Sad that these were not great. The flavor was good but They did not crisp up as there was too much liquid.
