Build Your Own Taco Board! Just a fun way to spice up Taco Tuesdays! Serve everything on a board and let your family do the work.
We love Mexican food. Tacos, enchiladas, quesadillas, tamales and more. The flavors, the tortillas, salsa . . ah, I could eat chips and fresh salsa all day long. Whoever came up with Taco Tuesdays is brilliant. I remember when I first started this blog, I was experimenting with themed dinners. My husband loves meat so when I started Meatless Mondays, he was not happy. I actually didn’t even tell him but I did write a blog post about it and one of his co-workers told him, “You’re going home to Meatless Mondays.” Ha!
Build Your Own Taco Board
Taco Tuesdays was a themed dinner he was all on board with. My kids really enjoy it too. Sometimes we just make loaded sheet pan nachos and that’s dinner.
Whether you’re a soft tortilla or hard shell taco kinda person, this Build Your Own Taco Board works for anyone and everyone. This way, everyone can customize their own taco and all the toppings are in one place, which makes everything super convenient and easy to make.
Have fun building one of these things and enjoy! Here’s the fun video I made in case you missed it. So easy and fun!
Build Your Own Taco Board
Equipment
- large round tray or round wood board
Ingredients
- hard shell taco shells warmed
- cooked and seasoned ground beef
- black beans see recipe link above
- tomatoes diced
- romaine, green leaf or iceberg lettuce chopped or shredded
- avocado slices
- bell peppers sliced or diced
- shredded mozzarella or Mexican blend shredded cheese
- tortilla chips
- fresh salsa
- lime wedges
- sour cream optional
Instructions
- Using a large tray or wood board, place all the hard shell taco shells around the edge of your board or tray. Fill in the middle with all the other ingredients. To make the board less messy, I like to place most of the ingredients into small round bowls. The bell peppers, lime wedges and tortilla chips can be used to fill in all the holes or empty spaces. Serve and enjoy!
