Healthy Breakfast Smoothies! Start off your day right with a refreshing, delicious, quick and easy smoothie!
You guys! It’s February 1st! I just finished my 30 days of green smoothies! There were a few days where I missed making my daily smoothie (I went on a press trip last week) but other than that, I was pretty darn committed!
Seeing these beauties on a daily basis was the best part!
And even though the 30 days is over, I’m going to keep making my smoothies .. because we are hooked. My whole family is. Even the husband. Which is huge.
We made this video a couple of weeks ago but I wanted to share it today! If you haven’t jumped on that green smoothie train, I’m hoping this video inspires you to give one a try!
I also experimented with different flavors. .
Don’t like leafy greens? Try this Carrot Pineapple Smoothie!
Or, if you’re feeling really adventurous, try my Red Cabbage Smoothie! Isn’t the color gorgeous?
This was seriously created because I had leftover red cabbage and I just wanted to try it. I thought it was delicious! Red cabbage has tons of fiber and vitamins C and K and more!
I hope you give these smoothies a try!

Great tips Alice!! I love the video with all the kids in the kitchen at the beginning 🙂 I just love your videos and listening to your voice!
Also, your tips of how to stack the ingredients into the blender are great. I always just dump everything in at the same time.. 🙂
hipfoodiemom
Johlene, thank you SO much!!! I used to do that too but I feel like, especially when adding leafy greens, that it’s blends together better if the leafy greens and liquid are at the bottom of your blender! 🙂

I’ve been thinking of trying a carrot and pineapple smoothie for a long time but haven’t gotten around to it — maybe today is the day! I make these carrot pineapple muffins of my mom’s and they are SO good. I can just imagine how well those flavors go together! Love the idea of the red cabbage too!

So happy you were able to do the whole month!! Amazing job Alice! These two recipes are gorgeous and I can’t wait to try.
Joyce
Alice, you inspire me! I always wondered about people who posted saying they love this or that recipe but then change almost all the ingredients. I now understand. It is inspiration, a starting point for creativity! I made a “late lunch” smoothie earlier. I did not use your recipe. I like to use what I have on hand. Banana, fresh pineapple w/ juice, home canned pears w/ juice, frozen strawberries, a blob each of homemade peach jam and blackberry jelly (both low sugar), a handful of fresh blueberries and almond milk. Then I decided, “Why not add some kale and shake it up a bit?” Stuffed a big handful or two on top, added ice cubes and blended away. (Thanks for the tip about order of layering. I will try that next time). Other than the greenish brown color, it was excellent! I am making some tomorrow and will leave out the blueberries and blackberry jelly. Cheers to creativity!!! Thanks.
