My segment on CBS 3 Philly! I was recently interviewed via zoom with Jessica Kartalija. A huge thank you to her and the team for putting together such a lovely piece, thank you!
Before 2020 happened, I had plans of immersing myself in the Philly food scene. I wanted to get out there and connect with local chefs, get to know others in the food scene and do a little of what I was doing while in Madison, Wisconsin but on a different scale. We hadn’t even been here for a full year before 2020 came around and we all know what happened then.
No more going out, no more restaurant dining, no more socialization or anything. It was just me and my family, like all of you, in my kitchen cooking. 2020 took me back to the basics in the kitchen, reminded me of the joy I had just being in the kitchen and cooking for my family. That’s why I am here with this blog. To cook and share. That’s it.
My Segment on CBS Philly
Anytime I get asked to do an interview, participate in a podcast, or go on a show and cook, I am greatly honored. I see these things not only as opportunities just to cook and share but as opportunities to show my face or raise my voice as an Asian American.
Jessica Kartalija from CBS 3 Philly reached out and asked if she could interview me for this segment and I said yes! When you do these things, you never really know how they are going to turn out. You just let the editor do her thing and hope for the best. I absolutely love how they showed so much of my work and content and my family. The interview was longer and not everything was included, obviously, but I really love what they did and I am so grateful.
