My New Pantry: A Work In Progress

My New Pantry: A Work In Progress! Here’s a first look at my custom pantry. I had a lot of fun designing this and I can’t believe it’s finished.

Hey friends! This is not going to be the pantry reveal I was hoping for. As I started filling my pantry with more things, I became a little overwhelmed and realized I will need to buy more storage containers and bins. If you’d like to see this first look, here’s the video. I’m not going to put everything in a storage container and I’m ok with leaving pasta and cereals in their original boxes. Is that a big faux pas? do you have to put everything into a container?

My New Pantry: A Work In Progress

If you are working on a pantry or plan to do a renovation, I would highly recommend the following:

  1. Creating slots for baking sheets, trays and cutting boards, as shown above
  2. Have a counter top to store appliances
  3. Add hooks for aprons and shopping bags
  4. Invest in a nice, sturdy ladder
  5. Add spice racks or drawers. and yes, I am okay with having these in the pantry. I do have a cabinet next to my range for oils and salt and pepper.

My New Pantry: A Work In Progress

I started out very excited but as I found myself adding more and more into this space, I became confused and overwhelmed. I still need to invest in bins and containers and will make this space a little more organized. But then this thought came to me: Will the bins and containers really help me, or are they just there to make the pantry look nicer?

At any rate, I’ll make a trip to the Container Store to see what I can find. If you have any advice for me, other than investing in several lazy susan’s, please leave me a comment and let me know! Thank you!
