Classic Burger Recipe for summer! Nothing beats a homemade beef burger patty fresh off the grill and stacked into a nice big juicy burger. Celebrate summer backyard BBQs right and make this!
Summer is in full swing and we are loving it.
As a kid, I loved summertime. I mean, what’s not to love right? No school and I just hung out with my friends and all the other neighborhood kids all day long. Literally, all day long. Most of the time, we just ran around all day until dinner time and would only go back home to run in and grab some food for lunch. We would go explore at this nearby creek and just have fun and splash around. God knows what was in that water but we didn’t care. We were kids.
I remember my parents grilling at night and having my fill of burgers and hot dogs. This is something I do with my family now. There’s something so perfect and right about backyard BBQ’s in the summer and just kicking back and spending time with my family. Up until last year, I actually didn’t know how to use our grill so I would have to wait for my husband to get home from work so he could grill our burgers and hot dogs and whatever else I had planned for the evening.
Well, not anymore.

Now, I’m no grill master but I can hold my own. And I grilled these homemade burgers and hot dogs for my kids and they loved them.

As long as we are outside, the sun is out and my kids can run around and play while I’m cooking, everyone is happy. I buy my antibiotic free meats from ALDI. This gives me peace of mind when I’m grilling up burgers and hot dogs for my family because I know I am using quality foods and saving money.

ALDI’s SimplyNature Organic 100% Grass Fed Ground Beef is 85% lean (which is perfect for making burgers) and comes in a convenient 1 lb. package. It’s free of antibiotics, hormones, and steroids. Organic, grass fed ground beef tends to be higher in healthy fats than conventional ground beef.

ALDI also has great fresh fruits and vegetables, ice cream, chips, pickles and anything else you would need for a summer BBQ. So, make this the best summer ever and get out to your local ALDI to pick up all of your barbecue needs!

Classic Burger Recipe
Ingredients
For the beef burger patties:
- 1 lb. Organic 100% Grass Fed Ground Beef
- 1 cup panko or dried bread crumbs
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons milk + more if needed
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- pepper
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
For the burgers:
- 4 burger buns toasted if desired
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- ketchup or thousand island dressing*
- yellow mustard or dijon mustard
- lettuce
- sliced tomatoes
- bread and butter pickle chips or dill pickle chips
- red onions or pickled red onions**
Instructions
For the beef burger patties:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, panko, egg, milk, salt, pepper, garlic, Worcestershire sauce and ketchup. Use your hands or a spoon to mix the ingredients thoroughly until well combined.
- Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal portions. Use your hands to shape each portion into a patty, ensuring they are of uniform size and thickness for even cooking.
- Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. If using a grill, lightly oil the grates to prevent sticking. Once the grill or skillet is hot, place the burger patties on the cooking surface. Cook for about 4 to 5 minutes on each side, or until the burgers reach your desired level of doneness.
- Remove the burgers from the heat and onto a paper towel lined plate and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute and ensures a juicy, flavorful burger.
For the burgers:
- To assemble: immediately place a slice of cheese onto the freshly cooked burger patty and set aside. Spread your fave condiments onto your toasted buns (I like to put condiments on the bottom and top bun). Add the lettuce and tomatoes on the bottom bun, top with the cooked patty covered with cheese, add pickles or pickled red onions if using and top with the top bun. Enjoy!

Now I’m craving a really good burger. Nothing is like those good old days when summers were totally carefree and we could just play all day and then grill at night. I’ve gotta work more on making those memories for my kids! These burgers look incredible, too. So thick and juicy!
One of the many reasons I love summer is because it’s grilling season! My husband is the grill master around here, but we grill quite often. Burgers are my favorite, too…you just can’t beat that on a summer night. This looks delicious, Alice! Definitely a perfect meal!
