Dark Chocolate Mousse. Thick and rich with a deceptively light and airy texture. Only five ingredients are needed to make this decadent, delicious dessert!
Chocolate is definitely a weakness of mine. As a kid, I loved milk chocolate and then I moved on to semi-sweet and now, bittersweet chocolate is my thing.
I think there are billions of people out there who would agree with me that chocolate just makes the world go ’round.
Give me chocolate cake, a cupcake, chocolate ice cream or just a piece of chocolate and I’m happy. But give me some chocolate mousse, and watch me lick the bowl clean.
Have you ever added ground cinnamon to chocolate? Oh my, it’s so good!
You guys, National Chocolate Mousse Day is Sunday, April 3! If there was ever a day where you needed to indulge and go all in with the chocolate, it’s Sunday!
I could not let this day go by without sharing a chocolate mousse recipe. And this recipe is so simple and easy to make! Anyone can make this.
It all starts with melting the chocolate and then mixing in the ground cinnamon. Then, you simply beat your heavy whipped cream until you’ve made fresh whipped cream.
Then, you need some egg whites and I highly suggest using Davidson’s Safest Choice® Pasteurized Eggs. All you are doing is whipping the egg whites and I always feel better using pasteurized eggs for recipes like this.
Davidson’s Safest Choice® Pasteurized Eggs are pasteurized in an all-natural warm water bath to eliminate the risk of Salmonella in eggs—without changing the nutrition or flavor. Davidson’s Safest Choice® Pasteurized Eggs’ patented, all natural, award-winning egg pasteurization eliminates the risk of Salmonella in eggs before they even enter your kitchen.
These eggs look, cook, and taste just like other eggs. For me, they give me peace of mind when I’m using uncooked eggs in recipes.
And for a decadent, fabulous dessert like this chocolate mousse, you don’t want to have to worry about any of the ingredients. Simply fold everything together and refrigerate for at least an hour.
Just look at this gorgeousness.
It’s truly a win-win! I hope you try this recipe for National Chocolate Mousse Day!
