Patbingsu: Korean Shaved Ice!! A Korean shaved ice dessert loaded with sweet toppings such as chopped fruit, condensed milk, azuki sweet red beans, mochi and more!

It’s summer and I’m whipping out all kinds of sweet deliciousness today! Have you heard of Korean Shaved Ice or Patbingsu? I’m so excited to share this dessert with you guys today!

Patbingsu: Korean Shaved Ice!! A Korean shaved ice dessert loaded with sweet toppings such as chopped fruit, condensed milk, azuki sweet red beans, mochi and more!

Patbingsu is not only refreshing and delicious but it’s also fun to eat! Similar to Hawaiian shaved ice, this Korean dessert starts with shaved ice but is topped with a variety of fresh chopped fruit, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla ice cream, sweet red bean paste, mochi and sometimes, colorful cereal like Fruity Pebbles for fun. Every time we got patbingsu in Los Angeles, Fruity Pebbles was all over it! How awesome is this?!

It’s summer and we’ve been on a DIY dessert kick. From homemade popsicles, to Japanese taiyaki to homemade ice cream, we’ve been doing it all. So we weren’t going to stop there. We recently purchased an electric shaved ice machine  . . .

Check out the rest of this post and this fabulous recipe over at The Kitchn and if you like it, please leave me a comment and PIN the recipe! And if you’ve had patbingsu before, please tell me about it! I’d love to hear where you had it and how you liked it! I hope you enjoy!

This looks awesome – it’s going into my “cook” folder (even though it’s not really “cook.”) You had me at Fruity Pebbles!
