Is Le Creuset the only way in enameled cast-iron cookware? Yes, they are beautiful and pretty and have a great reputation. . but cost about $200-400 a pop depending on what size french oven you get and if you want a collection or more than one piece, forget about it. Recently, I have seen reduced prices on Amazon.com and you can also buy Le Creuset from Macy’s, Williams-Sonoma, Bed, Bath & Beyond (with the 20% off coupon) and of course from their website. .
I don’t know about you, but I don’t have $400 bucks I can just drop on a french oven. Wish I did but hey, there are other brands out there. I would like to offer up another great option, Fontignac. Fontignac has been making traditional cast iron cookware since 1926. All Fontignac enamelled cast iron products are made in France to guarantee top professional quality. I bought mine at Bed, Bath and Beyond and after the 20% off, ended up spending about $140. Not too shabby.
