Ina’s Old Fashioned Apple Crisp!! So easy and sooooo delicious! Apple crisp is a dessert made with a streusel topping. Ingredients usually include cooked apples, butter, sugar, flour, and cinnamon. This is a great dessert option if you need something easy for Thanksgiving!
Friends! I love this time of the year! The leaves are changing colors, the weather is cool and my oven is always on. . with something delicious inside! I’ve never been a great pie maker. I can make pastry dough. I actually prefer galettes over pies because they are easier. I’ve never been great with a lattice top or making a really pretty pie crust so when I saw Ina make this Old Fashioned Apple Crisp, I was sold.
Ina's Old Fashioned Apple Crisp
Ina says to use a 9 x 14 x 2-inch oval baking dish. I used a standard size baking dish. I also cut all of the ingredients in half and made a smaller apple crisp.

Instructions
- This isn't my recipe, it's Ina's so click here for the full recipe. My only add: I highly recommend hitting it under the broiler for a few minutes at the end to brown the top even more! It's so good!
Notes
*I used Honeycrisp apples, which I know some people don't like baking with, but I thought the apple crisp was lovely
**I only used 1 cup of flour but you can use 1 1/4 cups or 1 1/2 cups and depending on what size baking dish you use, you may have a little of the crumb topping leftover
Honestly, I thought it was still delicious without the orange zest so if you only have a lemon, don't fret. I also highly recommend hitting it under the broiler for a few minutes at the end to brown the top even more! It's so good!
