Jambon Beurre Sandwich! A French ham sandwich made of a fresh baguette sliced open, spread with butter (salted or unsalted) and filled with slices of ham. So delicious! And I’m packing it in my new Hefty Press to Close Bags!

I had an absolute blast in Paris. The food was so good! We ate everything! Croissants, ate at fancy restaurants, picked up salads and – my favorite- the jambon beuree sandwich. You need to try this! 

Jambon Beurre Sandwich

A jambon-beurre (French for ‘ham-butter’) is a French ham sandwich made of a fresh baguette sliced open, spread with butter (salted or unsalted) and filled with slices of ham. You can also add cornichons, Dijon mustard and Gruyère cheese if desired. But a traditional jambon-beurre is just a fresh baguette, butter and ham. I highly recommend you look for jambon de Paris!

Jambon Beurre Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 1 fresh baguette* sliced in half
  • French or European butter at room temp
  • thinly sliced cooked ham, preferably jambon de Paris at room temp
  • Dijon mustard optional
  • cornichons sliced in half lengthwise, optional
  • shredded Gruyère cheese optional

Instructions

  • Slice your baguette in half, spread on the butter and lay in the jambon de Paris. If adding the Dijon mustard, spread the Dijon on the other side of the baguette. Add in the cornichons and Gruyère cheese, close the sandwich. Slice in half and enjoy!

Notes

*You can warm the bread for a little if desired

    Yesss! Just in time for all the fall baking and holiday leftovers! I’ve been a longtime fan of Hefty Press to Close bags, especially for lunches because they never seem to leak. But having an extra-large size is a game-changer. Leftover lasagna, pumpkin pie for a potluck, a giant cookie swap haul – bring it on!
