Dinner On A Mountain in Sitka, Alaska. We cooked everything over open fire. Maybe one of the best experiences of my life! I will never forget this!
Back in early June, I had the great honor and opportunity to visit Sitka, Alaska for the first time. I went with Isthmus to visit Sitka Salmon Shares and to shoot the very first episode of a brand new series called, Food For Thought.

This post is dedicated to the amazing dinner we cooked over open fire on top of a mountain in Sitka, Alaska. This was too amazing an experience not to share!
I got to cook with Chef Dan Fox, Chef David Rodriguez and Marsh Skeele, from Sitka Salmon Shares! To see more of this dinner in the series episode: click here to watch the first episode. All of the seafood was from Sitka Salmon Shares.
The most amazing part of this dinner was watching the chefs cook over open fire. What an incredible experience. There was no running water and we just made due with what we had.
Chef Dan Fox was like MacGyver and used wood boards to trap some heat to make a make-shift oven to cook our fish.
A huge and special thank you to Staub USA for providing all of the cast iron cookware for this amazing trip.
I am still in awe of the restaurant quality food that we were able to put out. Literally all of this was made over open fire on a mountain! No kitchen, no running water, nothing.
I mean… come on.
