Spinach Berry Smoothie!! A refreshing spinach smoothie with bananas, mangos, almond butter and Next Step AppeFIT Mixed Berry Powder! You’ve got to try this!
I have never been one of those people who could eat whatever they want and still stay fit. Not even when I was younger and my metabolism was supposedly better. As a kid, I really wasn’t active enough. I didn’t exercise much and when you do that, and eat as much as I did, you know what the outcome is. When I finally starting exercising and running and burning calories, it was amazing how I started to understand how my body works.
And it’s not about weight. It’s about feeling good in your skin, being active and being happy.
For me, I have to pay attention to my diet (what I eat and drink), regular exercise, drinking lots of water, trying to get enough sleep and making smarter choices overall.
Some weeks I am on top of everything and have energy bites ready to go in the fridge, fruits and veggies washed, cut, prepped and ready to go for dinner and I only need one cup of coffee in the morning. Other weeks, it’s the complete opposite and I find myself munching on m&m’s and craving Cheetos and we order pizza for dinner. No one is perfect.
But it’s funny, ever since I started my green smoothie every morning back in January of this year (and yes, I’m still going), I realized that the days when I didn’t have any greens in the fridge (and skipped my smoothie and had eggs instead), were the days where I got a little off track and needed that second (or third) cup of coffee.
I’m also a crazy snacker. I graze on little things all day long, which is ok if you’re reaching for carrots and almonds and stuff like that, but when I don’t have those things around, or in the fridge, snacking isn’t the best thing for me.

- 2 to 3 cups fresh spinach leaves
- 1 to ½ cups water
- 2 frozen bananas; broken into pieces

- variety of fresh berries
- hemp seeds
- Place fresh spinach into your blender and add the water. Blend together until combined.
- Add in the frozen bananas, frozen mangos, almond butter and Next Step AppeFIT Mixed Berry Powder, and blend together until smooth. Pour into glasses and top with the berries and sprinkle on some hemp seeds. Enjoy!
