Popcorn and O&CO. Truffle Oil

Recently, I stumbled upon Eating Rules, and a blog post that revealed (in the words of Andrew himself) “a dirty little secret of the microwave popcorn industry.”

IT’S ALL A SHAM.

Read his post and you’ll never have the urge to buy store bought popcorn again. Basically, you can make popcorn on your own! In your own brown paper bag. The exact same way. In a freakin’ microwave. This is all you have to do:

  1. Put a 1/4 cup corn kernels in a brown paper bag
  2. Fold the bag closed, and microwave on high for about 3 to 4 minutes. Just like store-bought popcorn, you need to listen to the popping. Once there’s about 2 seconds in between pops, it’s ready!
  3. Pour the popcorn into a bowl, (there will be a little less than what you’re used to with microwave popcorn from the store but who cares) sprinkle on your favorite toppings, and enjoy!

It’s THAT freakin’ simple. You’re welcome. Andrew Wilder, you’re freaking brilliant.

OK, so on to the important stuff: the toppings. I suggest the following . . . Truffle Oil, Sea Salt, freshly ground Pepper, and grated Parmigiano-Reggiano. HELLO?! What?! Sounds freaking great, right?

And you can’t just buy any Truffle Oil. .  you need to get the good stuff. Word. O&CO. Nuff said. But keep reading. . .

For over 15 years, O&CO. has been cultivating tradition, expertise, and high standards in order to offer our customers the best selections of olive oils and delicacies from across the Mediterranean.

With a respect for tradition, O&CO. cherishes originality where tastes and smells converge to delight the senses. Emerging from the high Alpes-de-Haute, in the village of Mane, France, O&CO. became the brainchild of two men united around a common passion, the olive tree.

While olive oils serve as the foundation, O&CO. also offers an exclusive collection of vinegars, tapenades, spreads, crackers, and sweets as well as an organic skincare range that showcase the flavors and the spirit of the Mediterranean.

O&CO. is a destination for your own cooking experience as well as for gifts. Founded in 1996, O&CO.s mission is to provide customer with the finest olive oils and Mediterranean food products in stores and online.
