Air Fryer Sausage Puffs made with Carando’s Toscano Ground Sausage! Delicious, packed with classic Italian flavor and so easy to make at home, you have to try it out for yourself!

Disclosure: this is a paid sponsorship with Carando Sausage. All opinions are 100% my own.

I’m back with another air fryer recipe!! This one uses puff pastry and some of the best tasting sausage!! Packed with classic Italian flavor, Carando’s Toscano Ground Sausage is made with 100% premium pork and blended with seasoned herbs and fennel.

The ideal complement to any meal, Carando Toscano Ground Sausage can easily be added to pasta or pizza, combined in a breakfast casserole, or simply shaped and tossed on the grill. Carando Toscano Ground Sausage is made with an old world, time-honored recipe and free of gluten, MSG, or fillers.

Air Fryer Sausage Puffs

I don’t know about you but we love sausage over here. This ground sausage was the perfect meat to add into my puffs! And any time a recipe uses puff pastry, in my opinion, you know it’s going to be good!

Simply start with thawed puff pastry dough. I like to leave mine in the refrigerator overnight, and then the next day, it’s ready to be used! In a skillet, over medium high heat, add olive oil and sauté your onions until softened, about 3 to 4 minutes. Add the garlic and toss for 1 minute. Add the mushrooms, bell peppers, smoked paprika and season with salt and pepper. Sauté all the vegetables for about 4 to 5 minutes. Add the Carando Toscano Ground Sausage into the pan and cook until the sausage is browned. Taste and season with more salt and pepper if needed. Set aside and allow to cool down a bit.

While the sausage is cooling down, preheat your air fryer and prep your puff pastry dough.

To make the sausage puffs: Working with one puff pastry sheet at a time and using a lightly floured work surface, lightly roll out defrosted puff pastry dough. Using a pizza cutter or knife, cut the puff pastry sheet into 4 even squares. Trim off the corners so you end up with a round shape. Add two tablespoons of the cooked sausage filling and top with some shredded mozzarella cheese.

Fold over the puff pastry dough and seal by using a fork to imprint and seal the dough closed. You can also just use your fingers to pinch the dough to seal closed if desired. Repeat step until all of the dough has been used. Brush each puff with the egg wash. Place into air fryer and air fry for 12 minutes, flipping or rotating trays halfway through cook time. Repeat until all of the Air Fryer Sausage Puffs are cooked. Enjoy immediately! You are going to love these! I hope you try them!

Air Fryer Sausage Puffs

These can certainly work in the oven if you don't have an air fryer but they crisp and brown much better in an air fryer, in my opinion.
Recipe makes 16 puffs
Note for the cook: if you have any leftover filling, it’s absolutely delicious on its own, in a lettuce wrap, with a bowl of rice or you can make more puffs!
