How To Make Pan Toasted Bread. No toaster oven? No problem! You can make delicious toasted bread on your stovetop in a pan!
I wanted to start this post with some life updates. It’s April 1, 2020 and today marks day 1 of our extended month long wait. Today is also my wedding anniversary. ha! How is everyone doing?
To be honest, I am struggling. If you follow me on Instagram, I have still been very active on stories, cooking and exercising and just trying to keep things going as normally as possible. I find comfort and enjoyment in cooking and writing here, and taking photos and making video clips is keeping me busy which is also good. But I hit a wall.
I’m not going to go into how I am feeling because it changes. Honestly, I’m just trying to stay sane, keep my children happy, healthy, well fed and taken care of. Going outside has been helping. I know this month will be a roller coaster.
ASKING FOR HELP
I mentioned this the other day on my stories and wanted to talk about this a bit more. Some of you have reached out and asked some questions.
FOOD BLOGS ARE SMALL BUSINESSES TOO
A large portion of the income I make here is from brand partnerships and sponsors. Back in February and even early March, a lot of brands and contracts were on the horizon, but since everything in our country has fallen apart, these have gone, postponed indefinitely or cancelled.
HOW YOU CAN HELP ME AND OTHER BLOGGERS
Another way I make an income is through ad traffic and ad revenue from banner ads that are on my website. I know they are annoying but hey, they pay the bills and allow me to do what I do: buy groceries, develop and share recipes with you all. So, I am asking for your help.
I mentioned this on my Instagram stories the other day and many of you reached out and told me you had no idea that visiting my website helped me in that way so that is why I am sharing this again and in more detail.
HOW YOU CAN HELP ME
Visit Hip Foodie Mom, my website, as often as you can and share links to my recipes with as many people as possible. If you are here reading this post, this is already helping me. You can visit as many times a day as you want and you can literally click around anywhere. Of course, if you find a recipe you want to make and you make it, that’s the goal. That is why I am here. For you all to provide recipes.
Visiting my blog and sharing my recipe links with your friends will help me.
FOLLOW ME ON INSTAGRAM
Follow me on Instagram, like and comment on all my feed videos and photos (especially any sponsored ones!), and watch my Instagram Stories as much as possible. This may be more than you want to know but again, I am only explaining this because many of you asked how you can help. More followers and engagement (specifically, your likes, comments, and Instagram Story views) within my account enables me and my team to negotiate better deals with future sponsors.
If you are able to do anything, I thank you.
How To Make Pan Toasted Bread
Many of you have enjoyed all the recipes I have been sharing and it still surprises me a little how many questions I get on the simplest recipes so in case you didn’t know how to do it, here is how you can make pan toasted bread.
Pan Toasted Bread
Ingredients
- olive oil extra virgin
- sliced baguette bread* any kind
- garlic clove
Instructions
- Using a large skillet or pan over medium high heat, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil. I usually use enough to lightly cover the bottom of the skillet. Place the bread slices down into the pan and let heat up. After a few minutes, you'll hear the bread starting to cook and toast, you can turn the heat down to medium.
- After about 4 minutes, flip all the bread and toast the other side. Feel free to add a touch more olive oil if desired but it's not necessary. I usually only toast the other side of the bread for about 3 minutes. Remove the bread from the heat and immediately rub each slice with a garlic clove if desired.
Notes
This is great for classic Bruschetta, just toast to munch on and fun plates like this one. Many of us are home with our kids, some of us have teenagers. This plate would be a great lunch or snack for anyone. Enjoy!
