Happy post Halloween! How is everyone doing? We didn’t have as many trick or treaters come by last night as planned so I am left with TONS of leftover candy. I guess I will be making this very soon. And why did I go back to Target a second time for more candy?

To all you parents out there, what do you do? let your kids save a handful and take the rest to work? Inquiring minds want to know.

We had a lot of fun walking around and I think my kids have more fun handing the candy out, versus trick or treating. I love that they are still young and enjoy the little things.

I have so much going on right now you guys. .  I can’t even see straight. In my former life, before I was a food blogger, I worked in an advertising agency and was a digital program manager. This basically means I managed multiple projects at a time, managed teams and budgets and timelines and everything. So, for me, a little chaos is calming and what I am used to.

I had this post ready to publish yesterday morning but then I received a text message that my very dear friend, Rina, passed away in the morning. Everything from that point to last night is a blur. I just tried to finish my work and keep it together. That’s what you do when you have two daughters coming home from school. .  and you also pray to God that you find the right words when explaining to them that one of their favorite people in the world is now in heaven.

I am going to dedicate a full blog post very soon for Rina ..  I have a pear tart in the oven as we speak. So, until then, hold your loved ones tight and I wish you guys a great rest of the week!

Alice, there are 3 dentists in your area that accept leftover Halloween candy for our soldiers. Click on the website link. Love the picture of the kids and ramble on! Sorry to read about your friend. In time you will think of her and smile instead of hurt. She will be alive in your heart. = )

I am so sorry to hear about your loss Alice. I know how difficult it must be, having lost several friends to cancer. May you find comfort in knowing that she is in a better place now. xo
