Healthier Energy Bites to ring the new year!!  Feel good without feeling guilty…

No-Bake Chocolate Sesame Butter Flaxseed energy bites! Packed with ingredients that you can feel good about, these are just the burst of energy you need! #giveaway #energybites #nobake

It’s January, folks. 2015. A New Year. Filled with new possibilities, goals and experiences.

I don’t know about you, but I kinda over-ate. Especially with the sweets. While we were in Dallas, I pretty much stayed on track with my exercise routine by running on their treadmill and my dad kept telling me “enjoy the holidays! The diet can start next year!”

For me though, it’s not about going crazy and eating to my heart’s content. It’s about balance, eating okay, still indulging a little over the holidays but still exercising and staying on track as much as possible with my running because, if you work out regularly, you know workouts keep you sane and focused. At least this is what they do for me.

On the plane ride over to Dallas, I was reading my Bon Appétit magazine and read that they are launching their No-Bake Chocolate Sesame Butter Flaxseed energy bites! Packed with ingredients that you can feel good about, these are just the burst of energy you need! #giveaway #energybites #nobake

Enter these no-bake Chocolate Sesame Butter Flaxseed energy bites! These are like the best things ever. Yes! These delicious, healthy energy bites are exactly what my body is craving today. I didn’t go overboard with the pigging out this holiday season AND I actually started going to the gym, so I didn’t do as much damage as I usually do in the calorie department. But then again, I ate five chocolate covered macadamia nut candies today, soooooooooo I should totally take your cue and start eating clean again. This would be the perfect snack to keep at my desk. Happy New Year, dear Alice!

I love to make treats with tahini!!!! and I do every week!!! I don’t use a recipe, but one fav I like to make is to heat the tahini with honey, and melt unsweetened chocolate. Then I add almond flour, dried orange peel, protein powder, and any combo of other nuts, seeds, etc. Then I press it into an 9×9 over parchment, put in the refrigerator and cut into small squares. Last night I used tahini in my asian sauce for my stir fry – sooo good!!! I would love to have this!!!

I want to try them as I’m working on creating some recipes w/ tahini since it has a fair little calcium dose and other great nutrients! Those bites look amazing btw.

I always carry healthy snacks like nuts, fried fruit or power balls like these when I am on the go.. so this is an ideal recipe for me. I HAVE to get my hands on that chocolate and sesame butter, never have I seen a product like it before. Thanks for bringing my attention to it Alice!

Wow…I don’t think I’ve ever heard of chocolate sesame butter. But it sounds awesome! I totally need to give it a try…and soon. Oh, and I totally agree with you…the holidays were awesome, but I over-ate a bit. Now we have to get into the 5am gym routine, and that’s gonna be rough. I’m thinking a need some of these energy bites to help me out! Pinned!

I really appreciate Bon Appetit’s approach to a cleanse – no weird ingredients, not a fad kind of diet. And these little chocolate sesame butter energy bites are the perfect sweet-tooth satisfier when your trying to lighten up food choices. Just love these, Alice!

I “kind of” overate too aka I could not look at food for like three days because of all the macaroni and cheese (and salad of course! right…) that I devoured plus the copious amounts of cake. I’m so for restarting with energy balls like this!

I was just reading that Bon Appetit, too! That cleanse is exactly the way I want to cleanse my body of the WAY overeating that happened in December. Like, a disgusting amount of overeating. I just stepped on the scale this morning and nearly fainted. Ugh, not good. These bites sound like exactly what I need to stay on track because I, too, need sweets!

Happy new year beautiful Alice! This sounds like such a gorgeous product, I’ve never heard of it (possibly not available in Aus) but I’m glad that you’ve used it to make these delicious little energy bites! We do have similar nut butter mixes here though, there’s a peanut and cacao butter by a company called Mayvers which I might use to try your recipe!! Yay for a healthy start to 2015. Like you, I tried not to overdo it in the holiday season but I still had enough to feel like I want a bit of a cleansing period to start the new year. Eating heaps of wholefoods and drinking lots of water at the moment. Sending you love and praying for a blessed new year for you, your husband and the kids (thanks for being such a beautiful blogging friend over the past year and a bit, I appreciate you!) xxx <3

this looks excellent!! I just discovered Soom this past fall and am loving the chocolate one. My new years resolution is to be selfish and take better care of myself. If I don’t exercise regularly and eat the healthy foods I like, then who will??
