Wow, is it already Friday?!

I hope you have enjoyed this week of giveaways. .  I wanted to end the week with a special giveaway. A $100 gift card to Uncommon Goods.

UncommonGoods is an online and catalog retailer that combines the treasures of a specialty boutique, the great finds of a craft show, and discoveries from a faraway bazaar. Founded in 1999 and headquartered in Brooklyn, New York, UncommonGoods is an independently-owned company that endeavors to feature unique designs and handcrafted gifts created in harmony with the environment and without harm to animals or people. They also support local artists and designers (I love this!). In fact, half of the products they carry are made right here in the USA.

I hosted a giveaway with UncommonGoods on July 4th and it was my most successful giveaway ever.  With 1,287 total entries, this giveaway totally took me by surprise. A lot of you already knew about this fabulous company and I loved reading through all the comments and discovering so many cool things at UncommonGoods.

Last time I teamed up with them, I chose these Recycled Wine Glasses.  . which I still use and LOVE.

This time. .  since I cook a lot. And chop a lot and find myself constantly cutting up vegetables, I chose this Bamboo Cutting Board.

Bamboo Cutting Board4 | HipFoodieMom.com

“This sturdy bamboo cutting board will help you keep things together while you’re slicing and dicing. The board has unique design, with edges that stick out 90 degrees along the front and back sides. The front ridge hangs down to rest up against the corner of your counter, securing the board so that it doesn’t shift around while in use. The raised, back edge acts as a block for the tip of your knife, and actually helps with proper chopping technique. Once your onions are minced and your celery sliced, the back ridge also serves as a backstop as you slide your veggies into the pot. Those angled edges also allow you to store your cutting board upright, saving valuable countertop or drawer space.”

I love this cutting board. This can sit on the edge of any countertop. I just wish it was larger! It’s 13.75″ L x 10″ W x 3″ H. .  again, I love it. .  just wish it were bigger. So I could love it more.

Maybe I should get this one? Isn’t this the coolest thing ever? Called the “Obsessive Chef Cutting Board“, this durable, beechwood board is clearly printed with detailed measurement markings, allowing you to chop perfectly square roots or calculate a slice of “pi” with absolute precision. Crazy!! I love it!

(and ps: it might take me longer today to approve comments. .  We have officially left the great state of Washington and are flying to Minneapolis for a visit with my sister before we move to Madison!! so don’t worry, I will approve all COMMENTS as soon as I am online again)

I absolutely love uncommon goods! That’s where I bought my mom her birthday present (I got her a little tray of 8 or 9 different flavored salts and these wine glasses that are off balance and swirl themselves to aerate them) and she loved them! Too bad the prices of those gifts set me back a little haha, I’m in college so I’m on a tight budget and the holidays are coming up… I hope I win!!
