Spinach Berry Smoothie!! A refreshing spinach smoothie with bananas, mangos, almond butter and Spinach Berry Smoothie!! A refreshing spinach smoothie with bananas, mangos, almond butter and Next Step AppeFIT Mixed Berry Powder! You've got to try this!

But it’s funny, ever since I started my green smoothie every morning back in January of this year (and yes, I’m still going), I realized that the days when I didn’t have any greens in the fridge (and skipped my smoothie and had eggs instead), were the days where I got a little off track and needed that second (or third) cup of coffee.

I’m also a crazy snacker. I graze on little things all day long, which is ok if you’re reaching for carrots and almonds and stuff like that, but when I don’t have those things around, or in the fridge, snacking isn’t the best thing for me.

I recently teamed up with The Vitamin Shoppe and tried their Spinach Berry Smoothie!! A refreshing spinach smoothie with bananas, mangos, almond butter and Next Step AppeFIT Mixed Berry Powder! You've got to try this!

AppeFIT is not meant to replace meals, it’s all-natural and is a great addition to a regular smoothie with fruit, greens and protein. It can help those looking to maintain a healthy diet keep that full feeling in between meals and avoid extra snacking. Derived from an all-natural spinach extract known as Appethyl*, the benefits of AppeFIT include: 5-hour fullness that reduces hunger and cravings and supports your willpower to maintain a healthy diet!

I loved the taste of this new addition to my smoothie! The Mixed Berry gives you that fabulous berry flavor without turning my green spinach smoothie into a weird brown or dark gray color. I’m not sure that it kept me full for 5 hours but I was not hungry an hour after I had my smoothie, which is usually the case.

*Appethyl is a patented supplement that focuses on decreasing appetite through the use of Thylakoids. Green plants contain Thylakoids, in Appethyl’s case this is in the form of spinach extract. Thylakoids have been documented to delay fat digestion, which in turn will increase the amount of satiation hormones in our body. Along with increasing our fullness hormones, the spinach extract used in Appethyl has also been seen to suppress ghrelin (the hunger hormone).

Proven effective with a study conducted by Pennington Biomedical Research Center, Appethyl helps to slow fat digestion, in turn increasing the body’s production of hormones that lead to a satisfied feeling.

Do they make it in a chocolate flavor? Because, you know, that’s how I do. ๐Ÿ™‚
It’s hard making good food choices,, so I try to take it one meal at a time. It’s definitely easier to be prepared so that you are in the position to make good choices when hunger comes calling.
This smoothie looks thick and fantastic! And 5 hours? I’d be happy with 2!

Hi Lisa! I freeze my own bananas! Just wait until they are a little ripe and then break them up and freeze them in plastic bags and I buy my frozen mangos and berries anywhere! Costco (I buy the big bag of organic mangos and berries) or Metcalfes or even Piggly Wiggly! Hope you try this!

Do you know I don’t think I’ve ever tried a green smoothie?! I don’t know why, just hasn’t popped in my head to try, but I would definitely love this one! Like yourself, I have to continue to exercise and eat right to stay fit. I can’t simply just do nothing. But I definitely have splurges every once in a while. You kinda have to, don’t ya? Can’t all be healthy food all the time ๐Ÿ™‚ I could totally drink this smoothie every day of the week and not feel like I was missing out. Sounds and looks delicious! Pinning to try soon. Have a great week, Alice!

I was a pretty active kid but after I had my second kid things changed drastically. I’m now working from home, mostly on the computer, sitting a lot and cooking and baking everything! I have to try so hard to eat healthy — the girls and I have started having a smoothie every morning and I think we all look forward to it just as much! I will definitely have to try this!

    Hi Alice,

I never had a spinach smoothie before! You are right that none is perfect but whenever I was craving chips or chocolate, I got me healthy energy bars from the store. So when I snack on them, at least I know that I am still eating healthy. Unfortunately, I do not have time to bake energy bars all the time, although I wish I could! I will definitely give your smoothie a try!
