It’s super important these days to take care of yourself and your family. If you are sick, stay at home. Most of us are healthy and are ok and I’d like for us to stay that way. We don’t have to panic but we should be aware of what’s going on and what we are doing.
Here are some practical ways I am going to be taking care of myself and my family:
- Eat your vegetables
- Get Vitamin D
- Exercise
- Get adequate sleep
- Skip the alcohol
- Calm down, relax and try to breathe
- Drink green tea (really!)
Probably the MOST IMPORTANT OF THEM ALL:
Practice Good Hygiene
Limiting your exposure to illness by avoiding germs is key to remaining healthy. Here are some other ways to practice good hygiene:
- Shower daily.
- Wash your hands with soap and water before eating or preparing food.
- Wash your hands with soap and water before inserting contact lenses or performing any other activity that brings you in contact with the eyes or mouth.
- Wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds and scrub under your fingernails.
- Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing.
- Carry an alcohol-based hand cleaner for on-the-go use. Disinfect shared surfaces, such as keyboards, telephones, doorknobs, and remote controls.
Staying healthy is more than just practicing a few good techniques when you don’t feel well. It involves regular exercise, healthy foods, and staying hydrated throughout the day.

If you’re sick and want to prepare for a possible quarantine, here’s a shopping list of items you should consider to avoid leaving your home.
What are you guys doing? I’d love to know. How are you doing? How are you coping? I am not going to panic but I am going to take care of myself and be prepared. I also just want to make sure that we are all being kind and treating fellow citizens with decency and respect.
