Equipment

  • Halloween themed shaped cookie cutters
  • Pizza cutter or knife
  • toothpicks
  • a board, tray or baking sheet

Ingredients

  • 1 (8 oz.) tube Crescent Rolls or puff pastry or biscuit dough
  • 1 (12 oz.) package cocktail-size smoked link sausages or hot dogs cut into thirds
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard for the eyes, optional
  • assortment cheese slices like cheddar, mozzarella and provolone
  • Reese's pieces
  • candy corn
  • Halloween themed marshmallows
  • Halloween themed pretzels
  • olives, grapes, figs, dried apricots
  • Halloween or Pumpkin cookies
  • your favorite Halloween candy
  • crackers
  • caramel popcorn

Instructions

  • To make the mini mummy dogs: Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Unroll the dough, and using a pizza cutter or knife, cut the dough into really thin strips. Wrap the dough around the cocktail-size smoked link sausages like you are wrapping a mummy; leaving some open space at the top for the eyes.
  • Place on a lined baking sheet and bake for about 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. After they have cooled for a bit, use a toothpick dipped in yellow mustard to dot on eyes.
  • Use the Halloween themed shaped cookie cutters to make cute shapes with the cheese slices.
  • Assemble your board! You can use a wood board, a tray or even a lined baking sheet for your board. If you are transporting your Halloween Snack board someplace, I highly recommend using a tray or something with a lip so items can stay on your board for travel.
  • Select something as your center piece. It can be a tiny dish of candy or a plastic skeleton or a fun candy container. Place it in the center and then assemble everything else around it. You can really just place all of your items on the board however you want. Just have fun!
  • Fill in the holes! Use small things like candy pumpkins, Whoppers candy or olives, grapes, figs, dried apricots or fill in any holes or gaps.
  • Festive touches! You can also add plastic tiny pumpkins, spider rings, skeletons or any Halloween themed odds and ends to add on the board for a festive look. Serve and enjoy!
